Police said they met with the victim, who said he was towing vehicles that were parked illegally.

The victim told police a man came out of the house and pointed a gun at him, and told him to put the vehicle down, and then went back inside.

The tow truck driver then called police, who found the man inside the house for questioning.

The suspect, Emmanuel Lopez Melendez, age 38, admitted to taking a gun outside to confront the tow truck driver but claimed he didn’t point it at him.

Police seized the gun and took Melendez to Central Station for charging.
